Women's Basic T-Shirts UTOPY – a category with two material options. Pieces with “cotton” in the name are 100% cotton Single Jersey (lifestyle). The other basic options are Drift polyester sublimated with one solid colour (sport). We sew them in our workshop in Měšice near Prague.

Two material options in one category
UTOPY Basic t-shirts cover two different scenarios: cotton lifestyle and polyester sport. How can you tell them apart? If the product name contains the word “cotton”, it's 100% cotton Single Jersey. If “cotton” is missing from the name, it's Drift polyester sublimated with one solid colour (the same material as our single-colour sports t-shirts, just in a different shop category).
“Cotton” option – 100% cotton Single Jersey
- 100% cotton, Single Jersey knit
- Silicone finish – smoother feel, less pilling, better drape
- Tubular construction – no side seams
- Narrow neckband in 1:1 rib knit with 5% elastane – springs back into shape, doesn't stretch out
- Shoulder-to-shoulder reinforcing tape – stabilises the shoulder line against stretching
The cotton option is not sublimated (sublimation only works on polyester). The t-shirt is conventionally pigment-dyed, for lifestyle wear with no sports function.
Option without “cotton” – Drift polyester, 1-colour sublimation
The second option = the same Drift polyester (polyester microfibre 93% + elastane 7%, ~150 g/m²) as our printed sports t-shirts, except it is sublimated with one solid colour across the whole surface instead of an original design. Sublimation at 200 °C in Měšice near Prague – the colour is chemically bonded into the fibre, no fading, the same colourfastness as the printed pieces.
When to choose cotton and when poly

Outfit ideas
Basic t-shirt + jeans or a UTOPY skirt = casual lifestyle. Under a UTOPY sweatshirt with a motif or basic sweatshirt. Summer outfit: basic t-shirt + biker shorts + trainers.
Care – varies by material
Cotton: wash at 30-40 °C, dry flat (a tumble dryer shrinks cotton by 3-5%), iron on the right side at a medium temperature, no bleach.
Drift (poly sublimation): wash inside out at 30 °C, no fabric conditioner (it reduces the performance of the knit), no bleach (it damages the elastane), dry flat, iron on the reverse only.
Tip from Markéta at UTOPY Studio: “When you're choosing between cotton and sublimated Drift, think about how you'll use it. Cotton feels warmer against the skin and has a beautiful soft drape – ideal for relaxing. Drift works just as well in training as it does in town, but it doesn't have that classic cotton feel. If you want both, get cotton for lifestyle and Drift for sport.”
