UTOPY Sale
UTOPY Sale – fully wearable pieces at a better price. A sale at UTOPY isn't an artificial promotion – it's a practical way to sell off stock in specific situations: minor manufacturing flaws (seconds), discontinued designs, fit changes and, once a season, a stock clearance before the new collection. No countdowns, no artificial pressure – just a fair price for a piece that would otherwise sit in the warehouse.

What you'll find in the UTOPY sale
The UTOPY sale is a practical sales mechanism, not a marketing ritual. We stand against the discount spiral, where brands run a ‘sale’ every month just to drive purchases. Our approach: a fair, fixed price for our regular range, and discounts only where they make sense – specific situations, not a regular game with prices. That's why the seasonal stock clearance happens once a season and has a fixed end date, not every month under a different name.
Four types of sale at UTOPY
Our sportswear sale works in four clearly separated categories – each one covers a different situation, and the products in it are in a specific condition.
| Type of sale | What it means | Product condition |
|---|---|---|
| Seconds | minor manufacturing flaws (stitching, print, small mark) | fully wearable, cosmetic flaw |
| Discontinued design | the design is ending, remaining pieces are sold off | fully functional, limited stock |
| Fit change | older fit before switching to a new one | fully functional, older fit |
| Seasonal sale | stock clearance before the new collection, for a limited period | fully functional, last sizes |
When and why we offer discounts
Seconds – a minor flaw occasionally happens during production (badly sewn straps, a blurred print, a small mark on the fabric). Rather than letting these products go to waste, we sell them at a better price and disclose the flaw. You always know what you're buying.
Discontinued design – some designs are discontinued (collections rotate, seasonal editions come to an end). We sell off the remaining pieces in the last sizes at a better price rather than leaving them in the warehouse.
Fit change – we occasionally redesign a product's fit (e.g. leggings get a higher waist, a sweatshirt gets a new sleeve). We sell the older fit alongside the new one – the new fit doesn't suit everyone, and the older version still works perfectly.
A tip from Pavla in the workshop: ‘With seconds, we try to be as transparent as possible – we always describe the specific flaw in the product details, often with a photo. A small mark on the inside or uneven stitching won't affect how it performs, but it shouldn't be sold at full price.’
Seasonal sale – at the end of a season, some pieces are left over that would otherwise wait in the warehouse until next year. Instead of storing them, we lower the price for a limited period to make room for the new collection. The workmanship is the same as in our regular range; the discount is tied to the calendar and the remaining sizes. Take a look at the UTOPY sale.
What a sale at UTOPY is NEVER
- A chain of promotions every month under a different name (Black Friday, Cyber Monday…)
- A discount as a way to push a fresh collection
- An artificial countdown (‘only 24 hours left’)
- A permanently discounted regular range outside these four situations
UTOPY pricing philosophy: A stable price = a fair price. We only offer discounts in legitimate situations (seconds, discontinued designs, fit changes, seasonal stock clearance), not as a tool to artificially encourage purchases.
Frequently asked questions
How often do you add products to the sale?
Seconds are added continuously (whenever a flaw occurs), discontinued designs regularly after an edition ends, fit changes after a new version is launched, and the seasonal sale runs once a season for a limited period. The category changes over time – keep checking if you have something specific in mind.
Can I make a claim on a product bought as a second?
A claim doesn't cover the flaw that is explicitly mentioned in the product description and is the reason for the discount (e.g. ‘small mark on the inside’). It does cover all other defects (e.g. a torn seam, functional problems). Details in our terms and conditions.
Will you refund me if the sale item doesn't fit?
The standard 14-day return period also applies to sale items (except personalised products, which are never in the sale anyway).
