When to choose a basic sweatshirt
A basic sweatshirt is for when you want UTOPY sweatshirt comfort without a bold print: for working from home, with a simple outfit, under a coat in winter, or when you want another piece of your outfit (a t-shirt, leggings) to carry the print. Basic is a quiet background – it lets everything else stand out.
Sublimation at 200 °C – why even for basics
UTOPY basic pieces are not pre-dyed fabric. They go through the same sublimation at 200 °C in our workshop in Měšice near Prague as our printed pieces – the colour is chemically bonded into the Nest polyester fibre, not applied on top as a pigment. The result: the colour cannot wash out or fade in the sun, and it lasts as long as the fabric itself. There is only one difference from our printed pieces – instead of an original design, you get one full colour across the entire surface.
Nest 200 g/m² fabric
Nest is our sweatshirt fabric – polyester (95 %) with elastane (5 %), weighing 200 g/m². Soft against the skin, breathable and holds its shape. The same fabric as our sweatshirts with an improved cut or zip-up sweatshirts – just sublimated in one full colour instead of an original design.

Outfit combinations
Basic sweatshirt + bold UTOPY leggings with a print = a classic contrast. Basic sweatshirt + solid-colour t-shirt + biker shorts = a minimalist outfit. Basic sweatshirt under a coat/jacket = a practical mid-layer for autumn and winter.
Care
Wash inside out at 30 °C, no fabric softener or bleach, dry flat, iron only on the reverse at a low temperature. The same care as for our printed pieces – sublimated colour cannot withstand high temperatures on the outer side.
A tip from Terka in customer service: “People sometimes ask why a basic sweatshirt costs the same as a printed one – the answer is sublimation. They go through the same technology, just with a full colour instead of a design. A sublimated solid colour has a deeper, more lasting shade than pre-dyed fabric – the colour doesn't run and lasts for years.”
