OEKO-TEX certified. It's the layer on your yoga mat that you sweat on and touch with your palms and soles for a whole hour. The certification guarantees the material contains no harmful substances, which matters for sensitive skin after hot yoga.
When you really need a yoga towel
For gentler practice (hatha, restorative, yin) you don't necessarily need a yoga towel. It comes into its own when you sweat a lot: hot yoga (Bikram), power vinyasa, intense stretching in a warm studio, summer practice at home without air conditioning. If your hands or feet start sliding on your yoga mat in Downward Dog, a towel fixes it instantly.

Nikča's tip: If it's your first hot yoga session, I recommend dampening the towel slightly before class (wipe it with a wet hand). A damp Wave towel stays put on the yoga mat far better than a dry one, and during class your sweat "activates" it to full absorbency.
