Men's Basic UTOPY T-Shirts – Cotton and Sublimated Polyester
Men's Basic UTOPY T-Shirts – a category with two material variants. Pieces with “cotton" in the name are 100% cotton Single Jersey (lifestyle). The other basic variants are Drift polyester sublimated in one solid colour (sport). We sew them in our workshop in Měšice near Prague.

Two material variants in one category
UTOPY Basic t-shirts cover two distinct scenarios: cotton lifestyle and polyester sport. If the product name includes the word “cotton", it is 100% cotton Single Jersey. If “cotton" is missing from the name, it is Drift polyester sublimated in one solid colour (the same material as our plain men's sports t-shirts).
“Cotton" variant – 100% cotton Single Jersey
- 100% cotton, Single Jersey knit
- Silicone finish – smoother feel, less pilling
- Tubular cut – seamless sides
- Narrow 1:1 rib neckband with 5% elastane – springs back into shape, doesn't stretch out
- Shoulder-to-shoulder reinforcing tape – stabilises the shoulder line
The cotton variant is not sublimated – cotton cannot be sublimated. The t-shirt is dyed conventionally with pigment, for lifestyle wear without sports features.
Variant without “cotton" – Drift polyester, 1-colour sublimation
The second variant = the same Drift polyester (93% polyester microfibre + 7% elastane, ~150 g/m²) as our graphic sports t-shirts, only here it is sublimated with one solid colour across the entire surface. 200 °C sublimation in Měšice near Prague – the colour is chemically bonded into the fibre, no fading, the same colourfastness as our graphic designs.
When to choose cotton and when poly

Outfit combinations
Basic t-shirt + jeans or men's shorts = casual. Under a UTOPY sweatshirt or a basic sweatshirt. Summer outfit: basic t-shirt + shorts + sneakers.
Care – depends on the material
Cotton: wash at 30-40 °C, dry flat, iron on the right side at a medium temperature, no bleach.
Drift (poly sublimation): wash inside out at 30 °C, no fabric softener, no bleach, dry flat, iron on the reverse side only.
Tip from Pavla in the workshop: “Single Jersey cotton ‘settles’ in length after a few washes – it may shrink slightly in the first 2-3 washes. For cotton t-shirts we recommend going for a looser size; it will settle after a few washes. The Drift version doesn't have this problem – polyester holds its shape from the very first wash.”
UTOPY brand promise: We sew in Měšice near Prague. Cotton versions feature precise cotton workmanship (Single Jersey, silicone finish, reinforcing tape); the Drift version “never washes out, never fades” thanks to sublimation at 200 °C.
